Your setup guide
Before you start Ask your MacGraver administrator for your personal .conf connection file and your NAS login. Your connection file is for one device; keep it private.

Start here, then contact your MacGraver administrator if you’re still stuck.
The VPN is active, but I can’t open the NAS
Check that WireGuard shows a recent handshake and received data. Then use the NAS address 192.168.50.161 directly in your file manager. If your home network also uses 192.168.50.x, try a phone hotspot and tell your administrator about the address conflict.
WireGuard never shows a handshake
Check your internet connection and that you imported the profile assigned to this device. Disconnect other VPNs temporarily and try a phone hotspot. The connection uses vpn.macgraver.com:51820 over UDP; some networks block VPN traffic.
The NAS asks for a username and password
That is your NAS file-access login, supplied by your administrator. WireGuard itself uses the key in your personal connection file. An active VPN does not change which folders your NAS account can access.
I need to connect a second device
Ask for a separate profile. Do not reuse one profile on two devices at the same time or share it with another person. Contact your administrator to revoke the profile if a device or connection file is lost.
How can I check that remote access works?
Connect your work computer to a phone hotspot or another network outside the office, activate WireGuard, then open the NAS. A successful test from the office Wi-Fi alone does not confirm off-site access.
